So basically, how long till we want computers plugged into our brains? I’m not trying to sound like an idiot. But seriously, how long till the keyboard and the mouse isn’t quick enough for us to talk to computers?
Advances.
We’ve interfaced through, levers, binary tape, buttons, keyboards, mice. And each iteration of interface has increased our speed of data input.
However, look at Miccy-soft surface computing. There’s no Keyboard or Mouse port. gulp.
We’re expected to use our hands directly to manipulate the interface. Using gestures and throwing things. Just like on the iPhone. I’m not sure how we’ll write text in, but maybe it’ll just process voice?
So pretty much. Every iteration is becoming more natural and human. I mean we weren’t born with a claw-mouse hand, or ergonomically arranged keyboard fingers. We were born to interface with the world and manipulate stuff, pick things up and hold them. That’s how we build stuff in the real world, not using a mouse & keyboard. In-fact, people like Stefan from wicked bros believe computers are a mild form of torture, removing your most basic senses.
However, how long till our hands aren’t quick enough to throw things around and type on the Miccy-soft keyboard?
Why don’t we just plug our brain straight in and interface directly?
