You’re alive right? You’re reading this, so me and your mum are assuming so. Imagine though, you’re about to not be…. er… alive. Think about when you’re lying on your death bed, family gathered round because you’re knock knock knocking on heaven’s door. What’s going to be going through your mind? Aside from the vague memory of this slightly morbid intro…

Apart from the obvious, making peace with god or trying to snuff it in a great hanging statement, “Never forget, we buried all your inheritance cash in…”

What about the stuff you’ve left in your attic?

Not, admittedly the first thing that popped to mind right. I know, me either. However, think how different it could be to what was in your great-great-great gran’s attic when it’s cleared out? Instead of big photo frames, would you would see a Hard Drive. Instead of  love-letters, would you see , the same Hard Drive… Maybe a few CD’s, Blu-rays. Probably not your old fishing rod, but a Nintendo Wii Sports accessory pack. Maybe even a pile of old mobile phones and your sim cards scattered around.

Maybe most of the memories/legacy you leave behind won’t even be stored in your attic, maybe they’ll be up higher, in the clouds? Sat on some non-descript server miles away called a “digital attic“? So when you kids are clearing out all your mess, they probably won’t need your house keys. Just a f-load of passwords to FaceBook, your personal file server, online car-manager…

Just for fun then, how about leaving a few ‘falsified memories’… So when they’re going through a load of dusty jpgs, scratchy mp3s and flickery .mp4. You definitely have to leave a few photoshopped media to scare them. “Me on everest”, “Me with the yeti”, “Me stealing crown jewels”…
